Climate Votes

Once considered a peripheral issue for voters, a significant shift has occurred as climate and the environment take center stage.

Among European Union (EU) voters, climate change and energy often rank among their top three priority issues.

Following the 2015 Paris Agreement, where nearly 200 countries committed to limiting global temperature increases to well below 2 degrees Celsius, with an ideal target of 1.5 degrees Celsius, many governments around the world adopted ambitious emissions reduction goals, with some striving to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

This transformation comes on the heels of the hottest season on record, marked by a global surge in wildfires, floods, and heatwaves, all exacerbated by the effects of global warming.
